The Presidency has debunked the rumoured resignation plan by the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (Rtd).
This is coming amid social media posts alleging Musa’s decision to step down from his role.
While the minister had in a statement issued on Monday by his media aide, Leah Katung-Babatunde, labelled the claims as false, the Presidency would also on Tuesday debunk the claims.
As contained in a post shared on X, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga reitrated Musa’s commitment to his duties as the Defence Minister.
Onanuga held that Musa remain focused on his national security mandate as he talked down his alleged plan to resign.
“General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd) remains fully focused on his national security mandate, deeply committed to his duties, and completely dedicated to piloting the nation’s defence strategy with results already being seen.” The presidential wrote.
On his part, the minister had, equally in the statement issued by his aide, urged members of the public to diaregard the fake reports about his planned resignation.
