Nigerian singer Mayorkun has reacted to a sweet gesture from his boss, Davido.
On his Instagram story, Davido revealed that he would be gifting his former signee a new Cybertruck.
While addressing the auto company, he told them to deliver the car tomorrow and affirmed his love for Mayorkun.
“My gift to you. I love you.
@babzii_chilling, please have it delivered tomorrow”.
Reacting to it, Mayorkun affirmed his love for Davido.
“Love 4L, 001”.
Earlier this year, in an interview, Mayorkun’s mother, Toyosi Adewale, opened up about her son’s relationship with the famous singer. She revealed that the first time she saw her son working with Davido, she wept. Toyin also recalled her first meeting with Davido and crew. She gushed over how pleasant and respectful they all were.
It is no longer news that Mayorkun was famously discovered by Afrobeats superstar Davido and spent the early part of his career under Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
Recall that Mayorkun signed to Davido’s record label, Davido Music Worldwide DMW, in 2016. That same year, he released his debut single, “Eleko”, which ranked up 1 million views on YouTube in just 10 days and charted across the country. He soon proved he was no one-hit wonder by releasing more hit songs.
In a 2016 interview, Mayorkun recounted how he met Davido, revealing that he had just quit his job at the bank after he got a call from the famous singer, who had discovered him from an Instagram video.
When Mayorkun won his first Headies award in 2018, he appreciated the singer for believing in him and dedicated his award to him. Mayorkun noted how Davido gave him a voice and prayed for more blessings.
In another interview, Mayorkun revealed that his relationship with Davido has been a blessing. Promising to always remember the day Davido reached out to him, Mayorkun, who apparently adores Davido, described him as a very good person. He said the singer took him as a brother from day one and has been very instrumental to the growth of my career.
Davido, in an Instagram post, had recounted his first conversation with Mayorkun. He revealed that reminiscing about how he met Mayorkun made him emotional, and he shared a screenshot of their first conversation.
