Fire had gutted a branch of Justrite supermarket in Lagos State with many properties and goods feared destroyed.
The outlet located at No. 116, Akowonjo Road, Jimoh Bus Stop, Egbeda-Akowonjo are of Lagos was engulfed in flames.
Videos shared on X showed thick black smoke emerging from the facility.
While confirming the incident, Justrite, in a statement issued on its X handle on Thursday, said that the fire has been completely extinguished.
According to the statement, the fire was completely extinguished following the prompt response of emergency services.
“Following the fire incident at our Akowonjo branch, we are pleased to confirm that the fire has been completely extinguished and the situation has been fully contained.
“Thanks to the prompt response of the emergency services and the coordinated efforts of all relevant stakeholders, the incident was brought under control swiftly and effectively,” the statement read.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly to the incident and successfully brought the blaze under control.
Eyewitnesses said the incident caused minor traffic congestion in the area, but no casualties were reported.
