The sister-in-law of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has spoken about his death.
While paying tribute to him at his Service of Songs, she revealed that the family was very particular about the man their sister ended up with, as she is a special breed.
She said she knew he was the one when he came forth for her sister’s hand in marriage.
“Anwuli is a special breed, and we were very particular about the man she ended up with. But we knew Ikenna was the one when he came forth”.
While mourning the late actor, Grace Makun, the wife of fashion designer Yomi Casual, dropped a bombshell revelation about his personal life. She revealed that he was married and expressed how much they will miss him.
Also, confirming it, Uche Jombo made a promise to him, saying she visited the actor’s house and met with his wife. She said they talked about him, and through the tears, laughter came. She expressed appreciation to God for his love and promised to take care of his wife.
While speaking on the death of Alex, Daddy Freeze said Alex’s breakup with his ex-fiancée, Fancy Acholonu, broke him. According to him, Alex was at his house one day, and it was clear that the breakup affected him. The media personality stressed that the actor didn’t rise from the scandal until he disappeared.
Alex was previously engaged to American model, Fancy Acholonu.
Unfortunately, the engagement was short lived, as later that year, they broke up. The dissolution of Alex Ekubo’s engagement was made known to the public by his ex-fiancé Fancy Acholonu, with the actor being silent on the matter.
In 2023, the American model issued a public apology to the actor earlier this year after she embarrassed him last year by calling off their wedding on social media and asking him to “live his truth” which had many insinuating that he is gay.
Interestingly, days after she made the public apology, she reiterated and claimed that Alex Ekubo forced her to put the apology post to save his face. She was upset that he didn’t live up to his end of the bargain after tendering the apology.
Hell-bent on exposing him, Fancy Acholonu further revealed that in their 5 years of relationship, he never touched her, and that she had been forced by Alex into tendering a public apology. The model seemed distressed over the issue, and she constantly called out Alex Ekubo, but the handsome actor gave no further response.
An audio recording of Alex Ekubo explaining why he wasn’t sure of how to respond to her public apology, surfaced online. Alex told her that he is a calculating person and wouldn’t respond to her apology. He said he didn’t want them to go back and forth and promised that she would always be his friend.
Acholonu had later revealed why she can’t spill the tea on their failed engagement. She described him as a full-blown narcissist and borderline socíopath, stating that Nigerians wouldn’t understand what it’s like for her to deal with a partner like him
Not done, Fancy, claimed Alex was trying to ruin her and her reputation because she left him. She stressed how she endured so much with Alex, from his cheating to his lies and lots more. But for him to make her constantly apologise to him was wrong.
In a leaked audio, the light-skinned actor faulted his fiancée for her ulterior motive behind the post. He noted that Fancy wouldn’t be making the apology if she had found someone else and was living in paradise. He further stated that he doesn’t see any harm in her trying to rekindle their relationship, as there were reasons why they fell in love.
