An old video of Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has resurfaced on social media, reigniting conversations around her views on friendship and her approach to what she shares online.
In the clip, Akindele addressed why she no longer regularly features her close friends on her social media pages, making clear that the absence of someone from her posts should not be interpreted as a sign of any fallout or disagreement.
She explained that many of her friends are simply occupied with their own lives and responsibilities, and that their visibility on her pages is largely dependent on their availability at any given time.
She had previously written online, that the people who appear on her Snapchat are simply those who happen to be around at the time, adding that if someone stops appearing, it does not mean anything is wrong.
In response to a fan who specifically asked about someone known as Vee, Akindele clarified that Vee had simply returned home and that there was no issue between them, thanking fans for their concern and interest in her personal relationships.
The video resurfaced in the wake of claims by blogger Tosin Silverdam suggesting there may be a rift between Akindele and her longtime friend Kamo, a pair previously known for frequently sharing moments together both online and in person.
No public statement has been made by either party to confirm any such fallout.
The clip quickly generated reactions from fans online, with opinions divided. Some expressed relief that her friendships appear to be intact, while others noted that she remains laser-focused on her career particularly as she works on a new film project and is not easily distracted by rumours and speculation.
