While much of the world’s attention was focused on missile strikes and military exchanges between Iran, the United States, and Israel, Iran says it was also quietly working on a new generation of weapons behind the scenes.
According to Iranian military spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, the country continued developing advanced drones and upgrading missile systems even as the conflict was ongoing.
He said Iran treated the war not only as a defensive battle but also as an opportunity to improve its military technology and strengthen its armed forces.
New drones reportedly deployed during final days of conflict
Akraminia claimed that Iranian forces introduced newly developed drones during the final phase of what Iranian officials refer to as the “Ramadan War.”
According to him, these drones had already been under research and development before the conflict but were inducted into active service during the fighting.
He added that the new systems are more advanced than Iran’s previously known Arash-2 drones and that more details about their capabilities will be released in the future.
Iran says missile systems were upgraded during the war
The Iranian military spokesperson also claimed that the country upgraded missiles used by both the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
He said Iran continued using existing weapons on the battlefield while simultaneously investing in research and development to improve accuracy, quality and effectiveness.
According to Iranian officials, efforts are also underway to increase domestic defence production and acquire advanced military equipment from friendly countries.
Iran claims it carried out 100 phases of retaliatory attacks
Iranian officials said the country responded to attacks by launching retaliatory strikes in multiple phases over a period of 40 days.
They claimed that targets included Israeli positions and US military facilities located in the Gulf region.
Iran further said diplomatic efforts later resulted in an agreement to halt military operations and reduce tensions in the region.
