The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed condolences to its National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, following the death of his mother, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru at the age of 92.
NPO reports that her death was announced in a statement signed and released by the Osun State APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi.
In a statement by the APC on Sunday, the party described the late Alhaja Basiru as a woman of faith, virtue, and compassion who dedicated her life to family and service.
The APC said she was a respected matriarch who raised her children with strong values of discipline, character, and devotion to Almighty Allah.
The party noted that her influence and upbringing were reflected in the life and public service record of Senator Basiru, as well as her other children.
“Alhaja Sidikat Basiru was a devout Muslim, a woman of virtue and compassion, a loving mother, and a revered matriarch of her family who lived a life of faith, sacrifice, and selfless service,” the statement read.
The party extended its condolences to Senator Basiru and the entire Basiru family, describing the loss as a difficult moment for the family and loved ones and prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased.
