Officials of the Anambra state special security outfit known as Agunechemba have again been caught in a viral video assaulting residents with cutlasses.
The vigilante group who had over the years grown infamous with their penchant of assaulting suspects during raids were captured in the video hitting a group of men with cutlasses as they whiskered them into their patrol van.
As seen in the clip shared on X on Monday, the armed security personnel stormed the yet-to-be identified residence in Anambra state, picking up several men along the street.
The arrested suspects were forced into the van with some of the personnel seen hitting them with machetes.
This had sparked outrage from members of the public, reigniting concerns over the conduct of the local vigilante group in the state.
Some also expressed concern over the creation of state police which, according to many, will be flooded with same personnel like the local vigilantes.
