Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has challenged former governor of the state, Chief Bisi Akande, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, to speak out over the deadly political violence and abductions across the state.
Adeleke called out the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and monarch while speaking during a condolence visit to the late Accord Party member, Ajayi Rogba, who was shot dead by suspected political thugs in Esa Oke, Obokun Local Government Area of the state.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, barely three days after a 14-year-old boy, Ezekiel Olapade, was shot dead at Ilobu town in Irepodun Local Government.
Addressing the family of the late Rogba and residents of Esa Oke in Yoruba during the condolence visit, Adeleke called out Bisi Akande and the Ooni over their perceived silence on the killings and other political violence happening across the state ahead of the August Governorship Election.
He charged them to speak on the unrest.
“Our father, Baba Bisi Akande, come out and speak to this violence.
“The monarchs should also lend their voices. I’ve called and challenged Ooni over his silence. He said he will address the issue.
“This is enough. Enough is enough.” Adeleke said.
Meanwhile, hours after the visit, another case was reported in Ilesa where armed political thugs were captured in a now viral video, abducting a man alleged to be a member of the Accord Party.
The thugs who came with an APC branded vehicle reportedly shot the victim twice before abducting him as he attempted to escape.
