Nollywood actor turned politician, Emeka Ike, has slammed a N10 billion suit on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Lere Olayinka, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, over leaked personal data.
NPO Reported that Olayinka had early this month come under fire after leaking the INEC’s database containing Ike’s personal information.
Olayinka had on his X handle posted the bio data of the Nollywood actor and House of Representatives aspirant, as captured on INEC’s portal considered to be unauthorised to the public.
The FCT Minister’s aide shared the information to prove his claim that Emeka was a registered voter in Imo state.
He alleged that the actor had in a bid to contest for the House of Representatives seat in Abuja transferred his INEC’s registration to the FCT on the 15th of May 2026.
While no action has been taken over the data breach by Olayinka, Ike would on Monday drag the FCT Minister’s spokesperson and INEC to court in N10 billion.
According to a post shared on X, the actor-turned-politician, had in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1272/2026, demanded N10 billion in general and aggravated damages, jointly and severally, from both INEC and Olayinka for the emotional distress, insecurity, and gross violation of his fundamental human rights.
Ike also asked the court to order Lere Olayinka to immediately delete the social media posts from his X account and all platforms, then tender an official apology as well.
The suit is however yet to be assigned to any judge.
