The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has expressed readiness to sign the death warrant of convicted kidnappers and cultists as part of his intensified effort to tackle insecurity in the state.

Okpebholo made the vow while speaking during the parade of suspected kidnappers linked to the Vegetable market abduction incident and other criminal suspects in Benin City on Thursday.

The governor, in his address, also announced plan to establish a special court to fast-track kidnapping and cultism cases.

“Now we are going to set a special court to try suspected kidnappersand cultists and decided within two, three weeks we are done with it, and I will sign it. The execution hang him.

“I will take you to the roundabout so that the whole Edo people will see you, and this I will not have any regrets about,” he said.

Okpebholo also warned criminals not to mistake his calm disposition for weakness.

“Please don’t take my simplicity for granted.” He said.

According to reports, the governor revealed that one suspect involved in the Vegetable Market kidnap incident has been arrested while another was killed during a security operation.

He assured members of the public of ongoing efforts to apprehend other gang members.

Okpebholo reiterated that kidnappers, cultists and their sponsors would find no hiding place in Edo State, stressing that anyone involved in crime would be tracked down and brought to justice.
