A 29-year-old man, John Samuel, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a tricycle valued at N4.7 million.
Samuel of no fixed address, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant and others still at large, allegedly committed the offences on June 5 at Ogba, Lagos.
Ikhayere said the defendant conspired with others to steal a TVS tricycle with registration number KJA 777QS valued at N4.7 million belonging to the complainant, Kemi Adeyemi.
The prosecution said the offences contravened Sections 280 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr Lateef Owolabi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until June 30, for further proceedings. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
