He told the newly elected executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by Akinteye Babatunde, who paid him a visit on Wednesday in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, that further terror attacks would force him to reveal the sponsors’ identities.
“I know the politicians behind these criminals. They are providing them with money and ammunition. If they refuse to stop, I will reveal their identities,” Igboho said.
The activist also revisited the recent abduction of schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, maintaining that he had offered to lead an operation to flush out the kidnappers but was prevented from doing so by the state government.
He rejected claims that he sought financial compensation to participate in rescue efforts, insisting his interest was solely to secure the safe return of the abducted pupils.
Igboho argued that criminal groups occupying forests across parts of the South-West could be driven out if local security operatives were allowed to confront them directly.
He, however, claimed authorities warned against any independent intervention, citing fears that the abductors could retaliate against the hostages.
The activist further disclosed that despite receiving federal approval for his security outfit, Iru Ekun, he was allegedly restricted from deploying the group in the rescue operation.
Defending his support for Tinubu, Igboho stated that the president had assisted him during his period of exile and questioned why some political interests were determined to see his administration fail.
