Suspected gunmen have attacked the Nigeria Immigration Office in Oyo State, with several arms belonging to the immigration personnel seized.
The incident reportedly occurred around 10pm on Tuesday at the immigration office located along the Ogbomoso–Ilorin Motorway, near the NNPC filling station.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants stormed the facility and overpowered the officers on duty before dispossessing of their firearms.
Meanwhile, no official statement has been released by the agency to confirm the development.
Number of casualties and exact number of weapons taken are also unknown as at the time of filing this report.
The attack is also yet to be confirmed by the Oyo Police Command with its spokesprson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, reportedly disclosing that he had not yet received an official briefing on the incident.
“I have not been briefed on the incident at this time. I will provide updates as soon as the necessary information becomes available,” the police spokesman stated when contacted by newsmen.
