The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday revoked the bail granted to the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore disclosed the development in a post on his X account.

NPO Reported that Sowore appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday for the resumed hearing of the case filed against him by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Recall that the DSS had dragged Sowore to court over allegations that he made false claims against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by referring to him as “a criminal” in a post published on his X and Facebook accounts.

In his post, Sowore stated that despite appearing in court on Monday, the judge revoked his bail.

“It has been brought to my notice that the judge presiding over my case concerning ‘Tinubu is a criminal’ has revoked my bail, despite my presence in court yesterday,” he said.

He added that because the judge was absent from court, his legal team requested a new hearing date.

“When the judge was not in attendance, consequently, we requested a new date.”

Sowore further alleged that the revocation of his bail was an attempt by the judge to assert control over the proceedings.

“The agenda for today was to consider my application seeking the judge’s recusal, but instead, he opted to revoke my bail in a bid to assert forceful control over the trial,” he said.

He, however, maintained that he would remain resilient despite the development.

“I will confront these developments with determination and resilience.

“This was all planned, but it shall not prevail. The struggle continues!” he said.
