Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has slumped on protest ground after being allegedly teargassed by the police.
Sowore had on Friday led other activists and members of his RevolutionNow Movement in Abuja for the June 12 protest over insecurity, economic hardship, and bad governance facing the country.
Clash would however erupt between the protesters and security personnel deployed to the protest ground, leading to the discharge of teargas.
The 2027 African Action Congress (AAC) Presidential candidate was caught in the middle of the chaos with his supporters alleging that he was teargassed by the police.
Video shared on X showed Sowore slumping to the ground as other protesters assisted him up before ushering him into the car.
They dispersed the crowd around him for him to receive fresh air as he regained his consciousness.
