The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his re-election as the Governor of Ekiti State.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, Oyebanji’s victory was a reflection of the confidence and trust placed in his leadership by the people of Ekiti.

NPO reports that Oyebanji had in the early hours of Sunday been declared the winner of the 2026 Governorship Election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Oyebanji polled 319,224 votes to emerge winner and secure a return to the seat of power.

The APC described the re-election as “epic”, noting that Governor Oyebanji has become the first incumbent governor to secure a second term in office in Ekiti State’s contemporary democratic era.

According to the party, the outcome of the election demonstrates public support for Oyebanji’s administration, particularly his policies, leadership style, and commitment to the development of the state.

The ruling party also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other stakeholders involved in the electoral process for their roles in ensuring the successful conduct of the election.

The APC praised Ekiti residents for what it described as their peaceful participation throughout the voting process, expressing appreciation for their continued support of the party and its policies.

The party further expressed confidence that Governor Oyebanji’s second term would bring increased development and improved living standards for residents, while advancing the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the state.
