The Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna State has again adjourned the alleged corruption trial of former governor of the state, Nasir El-Rufai.
The court, at the resumption of the trial on Monday, announced the adjournment of the hearing until June 24, 2026.
NPO Reported that El-Rufai had earlier arrived at the court for the resumption of the trial on the corruption suit filed against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The ICPC had in the suit accused El-Rufai of abuse of office, fraud, and financial misconduct during his tenure as governor.
Prosecutors allege that funds were improperly released for projects that were either not executed or were irregularly managed.
The ex-Kaduna governor, through his lawyers, has consistently denied all allegations against him.
He debunked all the charges and maintains his innocence.
According to report, the court was expected to continue hearing motions and arguments from both the prosecution and defence today.
This was however stalled with the court’s adjournment of the case.
