President Bola Tinubu on Saturday won the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held across the 192 wards in Edo State.
Tinubu polled 131,096 votes, while his challenger, Stanley Osifo, secured one vote.
The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, who served as the returning officer for the presidential primary in the state, said the exercise was peaceful across all wards.
Okpebholo said the results presented were collated from all 192 wards in the state.
“The election was peacefully conducted across Edo State. I participated in the election myself as I voted in my ward, and the results have been presented as they are from all the 192 wards in the state, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured 131,096 votes while Osifo scored one vote,” the governor said.
Collation officers from the 18 local government areas of Edo State presented the results at the APC secretariat, Ikpoba Hill, GRA.
In Edo South Senatorial District, Tinubu recorded strong figures across the local government areas.
In Oredo, Tinubu polled 9,177 votes, while Osifo scored zero.
In Ikpoba-Okha, Tinubu secured 13,147 votes, while Osifo got zero.
In Egor, Tinubu polled 10,074 votes, while Osifo scored zero.
Tinubu also secured 6,858 votes in Orhionmwon, 10,044 in Ovia South West, 7,983 in Ovia North East and 6,159 in Uhunmwonde.
Osifo’s only vote in the state came from Ovia North East.
In Edo North Senatorial District, Tinubu polled 4,564 votes in Etsako Central, 7,123 in Etsako East, 5,492 in Owan East and 4,139 in Owan West.
He also scored 7,464 votes in Akoko-Edo and 11,497 votes in Etsako West.
Osifo recorded zero votes across the six local government areas in the district.
In Edo Central Senatorial District, Tinubu polled 5,441 votes in Esan South East, 4,111 in Esan North East and 5,467 in Igueben.
He also secured 6,820 votes in Esan West and 5,536 votes in Esan Central.
Osifo scored zero votes across all five local government areas in Edo Central.
