President Bola Tinubu has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in Kabo Ward, Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The exercise took place on Saturday at the APC secretariat in the ward. Kabo Ward is the home ward of the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, Barau said the turnout of party members was a positive signal ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“With the massive turnout of party members, Insha Allah, the coast is clear for the victory of President Tinubu come January 16th, 2027, when the Independent National Electoral Commission will conduct the presidential and National Assembly elections,” he said.
According to the statement, the returning officer, Umar Mohammadu Rabiu, announced that Tinubu defeated his lone challenger, Osifo Osayamen Stanley, who polled zero votes.
Rabiu said three out of the 1,007 eligible voters in the ward did not participate in the exercise. He also expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the primary.
Speaking after the exercise, Barau thanked APC members for what he described as their massive turnout and orderly conduct.
The Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area, Lawal Najume, also commended the exercise and expressed confidence in the APC’s chances in the 2027 elections.
