Primaries: Large turnout of APC members at Ojo Constituency 1

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) turned out in large numbers on Wednesday at Ojo Constituency 1 to support their preferred aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly, AdebisI Ege.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the primary is holding at St. Michael Primary School 1, in Ojo.

NAN reports that Ege is seeking re-election for a second tenure into the state Assembly.

A NAN correspondent at St. Michael Primary School reports that many party members were already seated by 7:30 a.m., waiting for the ratification process to begin.

Security personnel were present across the area, including officers from the police, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Road Safety, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The security teams remained on alert to maintain law and order and ensure the electoral process ran smoothly.

There were also other attractions at the venue as drummers and traditional dancers adorned in colourful attires, produced sonorous melodies while members danced to the rhythm.

Party members, who had massively turned out at the constituency, maintained an orderly mien, feeling optimistic that the process would be a huge success.

Some party members who spoke with NAN expressed optimism that the process would showcase true democratic principles, adding that Ege deserved a return.

A party member, Rev. Peter Omojuwa, described Ege as trustworthy and accommodating to both the young and old.

He noted that since his election into the Assembly, Ege had lived up to expectations of the people.

According to him, he is poprulary called “Oko Opo” and “Baba Ewe”, meaning husband to the widows and father to children.

Omojuwa  urged Ege to keep up the good work, adding that success remained  the goal.

Another member of Constituency 1, Mrs Ayo Abidemi, noted that Ege was known for his charitable disposition toward widows and children.

According to her, the politician has provided many opportunities for the young ones, and that goodness has been his characteristics for many years.

She called for a sustenance of his style of administration and prayed the Almighty to grant him a smooth tenure. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
