Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force have on Saturday blocked  access to the venue of  the ratification for former President Goodluck Jonathan as the presidential candidate faction of the Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This is coming under the heels of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) barring event hall and hotel ownerd from hosting political gathering organised by political leaders unrecognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

NPO Reported that the directive had affected the Turaki-led PDP as the owner of the A-Class Park and Event Centre booked by the party for the programme attempted to cancel the party’s booking amid fear of sanction by the FCTA.

While the PDP had condemned the directive and insisted on holding the event, they would however be faced with heavy security deployment  obstructing them from accessing the event.

The party however proceeded with the programme as the ratified Jonathan as the party’s candidate.

Meanwhile, the former President was endorsed as the party’s candidate in absentia as he was in attendance at the event.
