PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Katung secured the APC ticket for Kaduna South after defeating former Senator Danjuma Tella Laah and Michael Ayuba Auta.

Announcing the result in Jema’a Local Government Area on Monday, the Returning Officer, John Laah, said the exercise was peaceful and credible.

Katung polled 7,453 votes, while Laah scored 1,370 votes, and Auta got 878 votes.

Laah said delegates from Kagarko, Sanga, Kauru, Zangon Kataf, Kaura, Jema’a, Jaba and Kachia participated in the exercise.

In Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani won with 9,105 votes, defeating Yusuf Zailani, who scored 1,021 votes.

Yerima Shettima, despite withdrawing from the race, polled 1,253 votes.

Reacting, Sani thanked President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for their support and urged party members to unite ahead of the general elections.

Yero Wins Kaduna North

Former Governor, Ramalan Yero, won the Kaduna North ticket after polling 6,060 votes.

He defeated Muazu Mukaddas, who scored 1,044 votes, and Bala Ikara, who got 362 votes.

However, some aggrieved aspirants led by Danjuma Laah protested the primaries, alleging irregularities and imposition of consensus candidates.
