He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Tuesday that the consensus was reached through Gov. Umaru Bago’s efforts to reconcile aspirants amicably.
He added that discussions were ongoing with aspirants in the remaining 18 state constituencies to adopt consensus arrangements.
Sarkinkaji stated that if consensus fails, the party would conduct direct primaries.
“The party has made all necessary preparations to ensure a smooth and seamless exercise, whether through direct primaries or consensus,” he said.
The APC spokesman urged party members to remain orderly, warning that the party would not tolerate any act of indiscipline or sabotage.
He commended Bago for his continued support for the party and for reconciling aspirants to produce consensus candidates. (NAN)
