Activist, Isaac Fayose, has announced the death of his wife following a prolonged battle with cancer.
Fayose shared the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page on Saturday, posting a candlelight image alongside the caption, “Rest In Peace My darling wife 💔”.
In another emotional post, he shared a photo of his late wife with the caption, “Odaro Oyinbo mi.”
NPO reports that Fayose had spoken about his wife’s deteriorating health in an emotional video shared online.
According to him, he recently travelled to Australia to reunite with his family but was devastated by the condition he met his wife in upon arrival.
Fayose explained that his wife, who would normally welcome him warmly at the airport and prepare his favourite meals, was too weak to speak or receive him.
He revealed that he sat beside her hospital bed and sang her favourite hymn, “Abide With Me,” in both English and Yoruba. Although she could not speak or open her eyes, Fayose said she gently squeezed his hand in response.
The media personality also reflected on the painful reality that wealth could not save his wife despite his financial status.
“My wealth couldn’t save my wife,” Fayose said tearfully. “Why make other people poor? My own money couldn’t even save her.”
