BENIN CITY — The Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS) has pledged support for the Ministry of Business, Trade and Investment in advancing the investment and ease-of-doing-business goals of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda.

Managing Director of EDOGIS, Dr. Innocent Bello, made the commitment during a courtesy visit by the Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor, and members of his management team.

Bello thanked the delegation for the visit and assured them of the agency’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at improving the state’s business environment.

He described ease of doing business as a major pillar of the current administration’s development agenda and urged the ministry to provide detailed documentation of its requests to enable EDOGIS facilitate and fast-track the process.

Earlier, Anabor said the visit was to congratulate Bello on his appointment and seek EDOGIS support in identifying and facilitating the allocation of parcels of land across the three senatorial districts of the state.

According to the commissioner, the request is tied to a proposed partnership between the ministry and the National Commodity Exchange, which requires the construction of facilities across Edo State.

He noted that the project would help stimulate economic growth, boost food security and strengthen trade and investment opportunities within the state.
