DELTA STATE: A young man believed to be involved in internet fraud, popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo,” has sparked reactions after a video surfaced showing him crying uncontrollably after allegedly losing a huge amount of money to a fake spiritualist he met on TikTok. WATCH FULL VIDEO HERE…
According to reports, the man had contacted the self-acclaimed spiritualist after seeing several videos where the individual claimed to possess powers capable of making people rich overnight. The supposed spiritualist reportedly displayed luxury cars, expensive phones, and large bundles of cash in videos posted online to attract desperate followers.
The victim was said to have trusted the claims and allegedly sent a large amount of money for rituals and “spiritual preparations” that promised quick wealth and protection from law enforcement agencies. However, after several weeks of communication and repeated demands for more money, the spiritualist allegedly blocked him on all platforms and disappeared.
In the viral clip making rounds, the young man could be seen crying bitterly while narrating how he was deceived. He reportedly admitted that he borrowed part of the money he sent to the fake spiritualist, hoping the promised riches would change his life.
The incident has once again raised concerns over the increasing number of fake herbalists and spiritualists operating freely on social media platforms, especially TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. Many of these individuals disguise themselves as powerful native doctors or spiritual advisers, using staged videos and fake testimonies to lure unsuspecting victims.
In recent years, several Nigerians have reportedly fallen victim to online spiritual scams, with fraudsters taking advantage of people searching for quick money, miracles, or spiritual solutions to personal problems.
