Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has renewed calls for an end to electoral violence in Nigeria, warning political actors that the pursuit of power should never lead to bloodshed or insecurity in the country.
In his Eid-el-Kabir message, Bamidele urged Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and mutual respect as Muslims celebrate the festival. He also appealed for national prayers for children, teachers, and families currently held in captivity by kidnappers across different parts of the country.
The lawmaker stressed that Nigeria cannot afford another cycle of violence during elections, noting that past electoral processes have been marred by clashes, intimidation, and loss of lives.
