The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has urged Nigerians to continue supporting members of the Armed Forces in the ongoing fight against insecurity.
Musa stated this on Tuesday when he hosted the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Lazarus Muoka, at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement signed by the minister’s media aide, Leah Katung-Babatunde, the Defence Minister said national unity and moral support remained essential in strengthening troops battling insurgency, terrorism, banditry and other forms of criminality.
He noted that the fight against insecurity required collective efforts from all segments of society, adding that prayers and encouragement from religious organisations had continued to boost the morale of personnel deployed across the country.
Musa thanked Pastor Muoka and members of the church for supporting Nigeria’s security institutions through prayers and encouragement.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and protecting citizens.
The minister also called on religious leaders to continue promoting peace, unity and patriotism.
Speaking during the visit, Pastor Muoka pledged the church’s continued support for the Federal Government and the military.
The cleric prayed for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength and good health to lead the country towards peace and economic prosperity.
He also offered prayers for protection and victory for troops fighting insecurity nationwide.
The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs between both parties.
