Nigerian singer Davido and his ex, Sophia Momodu, are celebrating their daughter, Imade, as she turns 11.
Taking the lead, Davido shared cute photos of the celebrant, describing her as his baby. Wishing her a happy birthday, he affirmed his love and promised to turn up for her.
“Happy birthday to my baby.
Big 11, love you so much!
Turn up!”
Sophia, on her part, described Imade as the love of her life and appreciated her Maker for level 11.
“Happy birthday to the love of my life! So thankful for level 11!”.
Recall that in 2024, Davido filed a lawsuit, demanding joint custody of Imade as he claimed Sophia was denying him access to her and was extorting money from him, which she denied. A week later, she had opposed his joint custody battle, citing the death of his son, among others, as reasons the singer is unfit to raise their daughter on his own.
Last year, Davido announced that he had finally reunited with his mini-me as he shared photos of him with Imade. The music star declared it the best day of his life.
The estranged lovers had reunited for the first time in 3 years for Imade’s 10th birthday party. The former couple were captured maintaining social distance as they pose for camera with their daughter.
In February, Davido reportedly lost his cool in court in Yaba, during cross-examination for his custody battle with Sophia and was creating chaos in the courtroom.
Davido explained that he never asked for full custody and asked for joint custody. He announced that he had decided to drop the case and assured his daughter that she would grow up knowing he fought for her.
Also weighing into it, Israel DMW admonished the public to fear women who carry churches on their heads like Cross. He noted how their minds are always deep and don’t care how one feels when they hurt them.
In a press statement on their official Instagram page, Sophia’s lawyer’s law firm made it clear that the custody battle is sub judice and will be decided by the court based on evidence and law, and that no amount of media commentary will sway that process. However, if their legal practitioners are threatened, intimidated, or subjected to harassment outside the courtroom, the foundation of justice is imperilled.
Following the attacks from Davido, his fans and aide, Sophia’s lawyer, Bella Chukwu, filed a lawsuit against the singer for cyberbullying, defamation, harassment and threat to life. She demanded that he publicly retract his defamatory statements on all his social media platforms, apologise, and stop his associates from harassing her and her family.
