The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman.
Mamman was reportedly arrested by EFCC operatives at about 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Kaduna.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, confirmed the arrest, saying the former minister was picked up alongside two other persons who were allegedly protecting him.
The commission said Mamman had been on the run after his recent conviction and sentencing by the Federal High Court, Abuja, over alleged financial misappropriation linked to his tenure as Minister of Power.
According to the EFCC, the house where the former minister was arrested is currently being investigated.
Mamman had served as Minister of Power before he was removed from office. His case is among several corruption-related matters involving former public officials and alleged abuse of office.
The anti-graft agency is expected to provide further details on the arrest and the next steps in the matter.
