Former Social Democratic Party presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has said that President Bola Tinubu and his Vice President Kashim Shettima are already in trouble, insisting that the real conflict is not between the two leaders but between them and the Nigerian people.

Adebayo made the remarks in an online interview, responding to Shettima’s comments at the book launch of former Head of State Yakubu Gowon on Tuesday in Abuja, where the Vice President revealed that some individuals had attempted to drive a wedge between him and President Tinubu shortly after the administration came into power.

Reacting to this, Adebayo said he was glad the two leaders were on good terms with each other and encouraged them to maintain that bond, but was quick to point out that their bigger problem lies with ordinary Nigerians who are unhappy with the suffering they are experiencing under the current administration.

He described both leaders as underperforming and warned that it would be double jeopardy if they were to add internal conflict to their already strained relationship with the public.

He urged them to use the limited time they have left in office to do meaningful work for Nigerians, adding that the electorate would remove them from power if things did not change.
