Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three suspected collaborators of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the development was disclosed in a post on đť•Ź by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
According to the report, the suspects were apprehended on April 13 by operatives of Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force.
The operation was carried out in the Abari general area of Monguno LGA. The suspects were identified as Falmata Abukar, 43; Halima Audu, 35; and Mairo Abba, 17.
Security sources who spoke with Makama said the trio were intercepted while attempting to move from Abari to Mararaba village in Kukawa Local Government Area.
Their movement reportedly raised suspicion, prompting their arrest by the joint security team.
Items believed to be intended for insurgents were recovered from the suspects.
“Items recovered from them include 12 pairs of suspected terrorist uniform materials, 176 bottles of herbicide, 22 wrappers, 24 assorted children’s clothes, a mosquito net, a mat, and ₦15,500 in cash,” Makama stated.
Sources said the items were suspected to be logistics supplies meant for insurgents operating around the Lake Chad axis.
The suspects are currently in military custody and undergoing preliminary investigation.
