Bello El-Rufai, member of the House of Representatives and son of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reacted to a claim circulating on social media that he has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the claim came from an X user who alleged that the lawmaker had secretly registered with the ADC.
In response Bello El-Rufai dismissed the claim and said the reaction from some people showed signs of worry. He stated that he found it surprising, adding that he expected members of the APC to welcome any such development if it were true.
He further noted that he has built a solid record in Kaduna North and believes his constituents remain firmly behind him. According to him, his main attention is on serving the people of Kaduna North as well as staying focused on his family responsibilities, including his father.
He wrote on 𝕏 : “But it seems they are panicking. I find it curious. I thought they will be glad I left. I guess they know very well my people are with me and our record is clear. In any case, my focus is Kaduna North and my father”.
