President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with the 36 state coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Also present at the meeting were Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, as well as other party leaders.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that President Tinubu had, on November 25, 2025, established the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative and appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma as the Renewed Hope Ambassador.
The initiative was designed to promote the President’s policies and mobilise support for his anticipated re-election bid in 2027.
Tinubu Declares Readiness For 2027
Earlier on Thursday, Tinubu declared that he is ready to contest the 2027 presidential election to seek a second term in office.
According to him, his administration remains committed to addressing key national challenges.
He said he is determined to “break the shackles of ignorance and poverty, put freedom in the hearts of Nigerians and ensure democracy survives.”
The President also took a swipe at opposition parties, stating that his leadership would offer a clear alternative.
He said he intends to provide something different from what he described as the “rascality or noise-making of a street convention.”
Tinubu added that Nigeria must adhere strictly to democratic principles, including the separation of powers and respect for judicial decisions, even when such rulings do not favour certain interests.
Addressing political tensions ahead of 2027, the President said he would not be intimidated by opposition figures.
He noted that his political experience gives him an understanding of the tactics employed by rivals.
Tinubu said he “can’t be intimidated by the antics of opposition parties and politicians,” adding that he had once been in their position and understands “the game.”
