Plateau youths clash with cutlasses, other dangerous weapons in fresh escalation of violence

Barely 72 hours after terrorists attacked Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, a violent street brawl has erupted in the state, with mainly persona believed to be young  Christian and Muslim men freely wielding cutlasses against one another.

The violence was captured in multiple disturbing videos circulating on social media.

In one video, some young men were seen violently attacking an unarmed man with sticks and machetes until he lost consciousness.

In another video, the rival groups engaged in a free-for-all brawl. Security operatives later arrived at the scene and dispersed the rioters.

The renewed escalation of violence in Jos followed the killing of at least 27 residents on Palm Sunday by rampaging terrorists who stormed the Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The tragic incident prompted the state government to immediately impose a 48-hour curfew in the area.
