PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has congratulated Otega Ogra, Senior Special Assistant Digital Engagement, Strategy and New Media , on his election to the World Federation of Advertisers WFA Executive Committee.
This is contained in a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The election took place during the organisation’s Annual General Meeting at the Global Marketing Week Conference in Stockholm, Sweden.
Tinubu described the development as a major step for Nigeria’s growing influence in global communications and marketing.
He noted that Ogra emerged as the only representative from West Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa on the committee.
According to the President, the feat reflects the depth of Nigerian expertise and contributions of a new generation to global industry standards.
Ogra was elected on the platform of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria, where he serves as Vice President.
The President said the election was both a personal distinction and a strategic opportunity for Nigeria and Africa.
He added that it placed Nigeria at the centre of global discussions on brand trust, accountability, innovation and marketing communications.
“Otega’s election reflects the growing recognition of Nigerian expertise and affirms our capacity to contribute meaningfully to global markets,” Tinubu said.
The President commended Ogra for sustained contributions to Nigeria’s marketing and communications ecosystem.
He noted that Ogra had built a career spanning leadership roles in banking, manufacturing and the public sector.
Tinubu added that the achievement aligned with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the agenda prioritised the creative economy, stronger digital governance and positioning Nigeria as a hub for innovation and enterprise.
