Paris Jackson’s fight with the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate continues, and in new court filings, the singer and model accused estate co-executors John Branca and John McClain of trying to intimidate her as she questions payments made by the estate to outside attorneys.
The dispute centers on legal fees and bonuses that Jackson believes deserve more scrutiny. According to documents reviewed by TMZ, she says the estate’s representatives have chosen to attack her rather than address her concerns.
“At nearly every hearing, and again in this filing, executors try to avoid the merits,” Jackson said, accusing them of suggesting her objections are motivated by lawyers or media attention. “Neither is true,” she added.
Jackson also alleged that the estate has used Michael Jackson’s money against her. She said Branca has been “using the media to attack Michael Jackson’s daughter,” and called those efforts “unacceptable.”
The filing also takes issue with comments Jackson described as demeaning, including one reference to her “strutting” into a hearing.
The executors have denied wrongdoing. Estate attorney Jonathan Steinsapir said the estate was hundreds of millions of dollars in debt when Michael Jackson died and has since become a multibillion-dollar business.
“Ms. Jackson has already received roughly $65 million in benefits,” Steinsapir said.
