A public affairs analyst, Sumner Sambo, has described the emerging Obi–Kwankwaso (OK) Movement as organic and a positive development ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sambo made the remark on Thursday during an interview on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television, following the launch of a joint support movement for Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
He said, “I’m very happy that these groups of supporters are coming together. This movement is indeed very organic and encouraging.”
The analyst noted that the movement was driven by supporters rather than the politicians themselves, describing it as a healthy democratic development.
“It’s good these groups are coming together, not with the support of the potential candidates,” he said.
Sambo, however, urged transparency in the group’s operations, especially regarding funding.
“They have appointed coordinators from states to zonal and national; we are canvassing for transparency in their actions, especially with financing,” he added.
Obi Meets Bala Mohammed
Meanwhile, Obi, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Thursday said his visit to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, was aimed at fostering unity.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Lounge of the Government House in Bauchi.
Obi, who was accompanied by Igbo elders, ADC senators from the South-East, and political associates, said the engagement was part of efforts to unite the country.
He expressed concern over the state of the nation and called for collective action toward national renewal.
