Former Edo State governor Godwin Obaseki has expressed sadness over the death of Professor Faith Osadolor, describing it as a painful loss to his family, Edo State, and the wider academic and legal community.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the former governor in a statement said the late professor, who taught law at University of Benin, played a strong role in shaping legal education.
He noted that Osadolor trained many students who have gone on to build careers guided by the values he stood for, adding that his impact in the university will remain for a long time.
He also recalled Osadolor’s time as Solicitor General of Edo State during his administration, where he carried out his duties with dedication and professionalism.
According to him, the late legal expert handled responsibilities with calmness and depth, helping to improve governance and support reforms within the state.
Obaseki described Osadolor as a quiet and thoughtful figure who was respected for his approach to public matters.
He said the professor was able to blend academic knowledge with practical service, earning respect from colleagues and those he worked with.
He said the death has created a gap that will not be easy to fill, noting that Edo State has lost a committed public servant whose work in education and governance was driven by service and discipline.
The former governor extended his condolences to the Osadolor family, the University of Benin community, and others affected by the loss, while praying for strength for those mourning and rest for the deceased.
