Lil Tjay is accusing Offset of snitching to the police after a shooting outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., left the Migos rapper hospitalized.
Speaking to reporters outside jail on Tuesday, April 7, after posting bond, the Bronx-born rapper, 24, denied any role in the gunfire and alleged that Offset blamed him in the immediate aftermath.
“The last thing I see was Offset looking at me like this. ‘Yo, that n—a shot me. Yo, that n—a shot me,’” Tjay said in video obtained by NBC 6 South Florida.
“That n—a is a rat,” he added. “I didn’t do no damn fighting.”
When asked directly whether he shot Offset, Tjay replied, “Did I shoot who? That s–t is crazy.”
Police arrested Tjay, whose real name is Tione Merritt, on disorderly conduct and driving without a license charges. Investigators allege he started a confrontation and that someone in his group later shot Offset. Authorities say the investigation remains active.
Offset’s representative confirmed the rapper suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition.
Tjay’s attorney, Dawn Florio, said, “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting.”
Tjay broke through with 2018’s “Resume” and later released the albums True 2 Myself and 222.” The rapper survived a 2022 shooting in New Jersey and returned with new music, including the single “Beat the Odds.”
