Content creator Layi Wasabi has shared that his earlier opinion about relationships has changed after new experiences in Lagos dating life.
PrimeTimes Nigeria recalls that in a past interview the actor explained that he used to avoid the idea of dating stages like having a girlfriend. At that time, he said he preferred to go straight into a serious relationship with marriage in mind, believing that any partner he chooses should already look like a potential wife from the beginning.
“I don’t believe in the concept of a girlfriend. I believe in partnership. I don’t believe in that phase of girlfriends. I start with courtship. I have to see the wife in the person from the beginning,” he said.
However, Layi has now reacted to that old video on social media platform 𝕏, admitting that his thinking has shifted. He stated that his experience in the Lagos dating scene made him rethink his earlier approach, noting that the reality of dating there affected how he now views relationships.
He also hinted that his previous mindset did not work well for him and that he no longer holds on to the idea of searching for a wife from the very start of every relationship.
“lool na this mentality i use enter lagos dating pool. dem wan kill me. abeg i no dey try see wife in the beginning again o. thanks,” he wrote.
Layi rose to limelight through his comedy skits online, where he plays a lawyer character and uses humour to reflect everyday life situations.
