Nigerian actress and reality TV star Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has slammed critics condemning her for undergoing cosmetic surgery.
Speaking via an Instagram post, Phyna stated that those mocking her cannot afford to undergo the surgery.
She argued that if they were financially capable, they would also undergo the procedure.
Phyna further argued that people’s opinions on such procedures are mostly determined by their financial capabilities rather than their personal choices.
“You always say once someone wins Big Brother or goes on the show, they start doing things to their body. My dear, if you had money, do you know what you would do? Imagine you had ₦20 million you’re not even using as a woman, you would go and have surgery. Don’t let anybody deceive you. It’s because you are broke. Even me, I admit it’s because of money. It’s nothing else, I swear to God, I won’t lie to you. Right now, your thinking is clouded. You’re wondering, ‘Why are they doing this?’ My sister, it’s the money you don’t have that’s why you’re criticizing it. Don’t worry, if money comes your way, you will do it too,” she stated.
The reality TV star’s statement quickly stirred up the conversation surrounding the influence that comes with financial freedom.
