FG seals Paradise Estate in Abuja over consumer complaints

The federal government through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed off Paradise Estate in the Life Camp Extension area of Abuja over alleged violations of consumer rights.

The enforcement action followed accusations that the estate failed to deliver housing units to buyers despite receiving full payment.

According to the commission, the decision came after multiple complaints from affected purchasers.

The FCCPC said the estate’s management repeatedly ignored regulatory directives, prompting the intervention.

It added that several petitions and other alleged infractions formed the basis for sealing the property, noting that continued non-compliance left the agency with no choice but to act.

Reaffirming its position, the commission stressed its commitment to protecting consumers from unfair business practices. It also warned real estate developers to honour contractual agreements and comply strictly with consumer protection laws.
