Ebro Darden is weighing in on the growing anticipation surrounding Drake’s upcoming album, ICEMAN.
During a recent episode of The Ebro Laura & Rosenberg Show, the radio host responded after DJ Akademiks accused Drake critics of “flip-flopping” now that the rapper is preparing to release new music.
“Come with this album. Let’s hear it,” Ebro said. “People are very excited. You’re one of the biggest artists in the game. You lost a battle. It’s not a big deal. It’s over, on to the next.”
When co-host Laura Stylez suggested Drake simply needs another major hit, Ebro argued he already has one. “Everybody said that, and he did, ‘Nokia,’” he said.

Ebro also took issue with Akademiks’ suggestion that anyone interested in Drake’s next project is secretly a fan.
“What exactly are you standing on, exactly, Akademiks, when you say ‘flip-flopping?’” Ebro said. “We’re just fans of music, we’re fans of the culture, we’re fans of hip-hop.” He continued, “What exactly are you standing on or standing for when you say you’re on Drake’s side?”
Drake has not announced a release date for ICEMAN. However, the rapper was seen filming what appeared to be a music video in Toronto over the weekend.
Clips circulating online showed Drake standing in a parking lot surrounded by large blocks of ice.
