Ebro Darden is not convinced the now viral video of Ice Spice being slapped during a fight at a Los Angeles McDonald’s was entirely real.
During a recent episode of The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, the radio personality questioned why the rapper appeared to be at the restaurant without visible security. The video of the squabble immediately went viral, with fans giving the rapper props for holding her own…but Ebro thinks it was staged.
“So Ice Spice just sits in a Hollywood McDonald’s without security?” Ebro asked after co-host Laura Styles recapped the altercation. “I think she had security there.” When Styles suggested security would have stepped in if they had been present, Ebro said the lack of a response made him suspicious.
Ebro says Ice Spice’s MCDONALD’s fight incident was staged —saying that she did it to get back in the news because she was flopping.

“That’s also kind of what made me feel like this might be, kind of promo, too,” he said. “Y’all know I be looking for promo. Ice Spice needs promo right now. I feel like it was wrestling.” Ebro went on to suggest the woman in the video may have known the rapper before the fight. “Y’all believe in that? I’m not buying it,” he added.
The footage showed a woman approaching Ice Spice and asking if they were “ready to shake a–” before the situation escalated into a fight.
Ice Spice’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, later said the incident had been reported to police. “The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD,” Cohen said. “We will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly.”
