Offset is recovering after a shooting outside a Florida casino, and former NFL star Dez Bryant says the rapper contacted him just hours before the incident.
Bryant, 36, shared a series of posts on X on Tuesday claiming Offset reached out to him about a possible business opportunity shortly before the rapper was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
“I swear to God Offset reached out to me yesterday three hours before he got shot on a money play,” Bryant wrote. “I thought about it said, ‘I’m good.’ Then I saw the news later on and was like d–n.”
Bryant also alleged that Offset owed him money from a previous encounter.
“I beat Offset out of 8K,” he wrote. “I charged it to the game.”

The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver shared screenshots that appeared to show Lil Tjay asking Offset to repay $10,000.
Offset’s representative confirmed to multiple outlets that the rapper was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and remains in stable condition. Police say the shooting followed an altercation outside the casino. Lil Tjay, born Tione Merritt, was arrested on disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license charges.
Offset has not personally spoken out since the shooting, but his money issues have long been documented, and he allegedly owed more than $1.5 million in taxes.
“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” his estranged wife Cardi B said last year. “Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m fighting for that, I’m gonna fight for that. This is not no love s–t.”
“I’m not gonna live my life because on a contract I’m practically still married because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it,” she continued. “So, that’s what I’m going through in life. Y’all want me to remarry and stuff to have another baby and stuff like that. I’m doing things now that makes me happy. I did it the right way the first time.”
