The Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has commended the Nigerian Air Force Queens Football Club for finishing as runners-up at the 2026 Federation Cup.
The team lost in the final to Niger Rattle FC after a keenly contested match.
Receiving the players at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja, the CAS praised their performance and dedication.
“You have demonstrated courage, teamwork, and determination. Reaching the final reflects the effectiveness of our investment in sports development,” he said.
Aneke assured the team of continued support, noting that the Air Force remains committed to developing sports and supporting its athletes.
“We will continue to provide the resources needed for our athletes to excel,” he added.
Earlier, the Director of Sports, Group Captain Ademide Adeyeye, thanked the CAS for his support.
“The morale boost and logistical backing played a significant role in the team’s success,” he said.
The NAF Queens’ performance has been described as a major boost for women’s football within the Service.
