Recall that the Nigerian Army on Sunday, disclosed that a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, identified as Abdulsamad Jamiu, lost his life during a shootout between troops and armed robbers in Abuja.
According to a statement by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Headquarters Guards Brigade, Lieutenant Olawuyi Odunola, the unfortunate incident occurred when troops of the Guards Brigade Quick Response Group, on routine night patrol, responded to a distress call following an armed robbery attack in Shagari Estate, Dei Dei area of Abuja.
