Nollywood actress, Wumi Toriola, took a swipe at influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa after he reportedly addressed her in a way she felt was disrespectful.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the incident happened at an event in Lagos as Wumi was exchanging greetings with fellow actresses Ini Edo and Eniola Ajao. While in conversation, Enioluwa moved closer to greet her and mentioned her name during the exchange. Wumi immediately reacted in anger, pushing him slightly away and questioning why he would address her in that manner.
Enioluwa quickly tried to calm the situation by explaining that he had actually referred to her with respect, saying “Aunty Wumi” while greeting her. However, Wumi maintained that she expected a more respectful form of greeting, stressing that they were not on the same level and that proper respect should be shown, especially by younger people.
Enioluwa said “Wumi how are you?” as he attempted to hug her.
In response, the actress said: “are you insane? did you just call my name? How dare you call me by my name?”
Enioluwa immediately replied “No no I didn’t say that. I said aunty Wumi how are you?”
Wumi later took to her Instagram story to respond to comments about her age. She explained that people often misunderstand her because of her youthful appearance and added that she completed secondary school in 2003, asking critics to do the calculation themselves to understand her age better.
She wrote: “I saw people debating my age. Nor be everyone ise de gbo ooo. Na all my family get baby face. I finished secondary school in 2003. Do d maths. 16 nor dey enter uni that time.”
